Default Truck oil pan

What year did Ford start using the truck oil pan
with the removable bottom plate ???

I have one on a motor that is going to the scrapyard.
Wondering if it is worth removing ???

thinking 40s on within the 59a/8ba.

to my thinking is save it. truck pans work well with late flatheads and model a's and early fords (anything with a straight axle). at the very least. waterpumps too. maybe bell housing.

I don't know if the ones on ebay sell, but they are always wanting at least $100 for them.

The truck oil pans are needed for installing an 8 BA into prewar cars. Save it.

The pre 8BA pans won't fit anything but a pre-8BA. Folks like the trap door pans for cars too. It makes it easier to replace any clutch or flywheel in an early Ford. I would check prices on flea pay for a while before listing it. Folks may pay more than $100 but likely not a lot more. Shipping is another concern for buyers. It would sell easy enough though and be worth taking it off and cleaning it.

How would it make a clutch/flywheel job easier?

You can actually get the flywheel out without pulling the oil pan. We aren't talking about 8RT set ups here but strictly 59 series and earlier V8s.

Folks have to be more specific on here. If you mean a sump clean out on the bottom of an 8RT oil pan then we are only taking about 8RT engines. If you are taking about the trap door set up on the early engines then it's only about them.
