The wife and I drive our 30 coupe in to town
There's really not any restaurants open but a few of the fast-food places have open drive through. Was a beautiful afternoon for a Model A ride.

Yes, that was the idea, to enjoy the ride as it is. For those that can't, for what ever reason, get their A out for a drive.

Boy, wouldn't I love to get my car out but the police are red hot on people breaking the lockdown. We would be liable for a fine of $1652 EACH! By the time this is over, the weather will have turned to turds.

It is supposed to rain or snow here for the next 6 days, but when it clears, I am definitely taking mine out. The guidelines do say you can get out for recreation, and that is definitely recreation. Thanks for the ride.

I especially liked the way your lovely wife carefully got out of the car and then did not slam the living daylights out of the door! I can tell there is real love for your Model A. Ed

Usually I shut the gas off a block away, by the time it gets in the garage it's about out. I also have a master switch, if it's off, everything is off.

Re: The wife and I drive our 30 coupe in to town
For some reason it is blocked out and I cant see. I have noticed this with some other utube links. But sounds like a nice drive. Im still not sure I would be visiting a fast food joint though. Sounds like an invitation to disaster.

Art that was fun to watch! Thanks!
I also appreciated the way your wife closed the door, she knows what she's doing. I gringe when I hear and see someone slam the livin' bejeebers out of any car door. I wasn't brought up that way there's no need to do that. |

But really, what are you going to do? You can't even hide in a cave, caves have bats, and they think that's where the virus became transferable to humans. Syncro's situation baffles me, how does driving around cause a problem?

Police here are enforcing restrictions with vigour. After the public kicked up a stink, police here finally withdrew the fines for a mother and daughter (who live in the same house) out for a driving lesson. Here, a student driver must have 120 hours on the road and keep a logbook signed by the licensed driver to be eligible to sit the test. The 120 hours is supposed to be in all driving conditions. We had just had quite a bit of rain so it was the ideal opportunity for mum to take daughter out for experience on wet roads. Because a driving lesson is not a necessary activity, they were booked. Police are using helicopters, number plate recognition (every police car has it fitted) and patrols to make sure people don't travel during Easter. No going to the holiday house, no visiting family no travelling interstate- no leaving the house unless it is for one of the only 4 accepted reasons:
As draconian as these rules are, I'm for it because we are beating this bug. With a population of about 26 million, we have had 6,100 confirmed. infections and 51 deaths. By comparison, your country has about 15 times as many people so that would be 91,500 infections and 765 deaths. Think about it! Most of us on this forum are in the "At Risk" category, me included so I am quite happy to put up with a little inconvenience now for a longer term gain in the future.

Re: The wife and I drive our 30 coupe in to town
Art - I really enjoyed your video - thank you so much for posting it. My wife and I take a neighborhood cruise every evening in our 31 roadster, don’t stop or get close to neighbors, but all the neighbors out walking, running and riding bikes or in golf carts wave and give thumbs-ups to us - we see lots of smiles and several young people tonight yelled that wanted to ride in the car. I think seeing an old car putting around makes people happy.

Hi Art, I completely agree with your comment on fast food!
I will leave my political commentary out, however I think that Synchro is spot on. |

Re: The wife and I drive our 30 coupe in to town
A couple of side notes:
My wife is a retired nurse of 45 years, 10 of those in the Navy. Exposed to all kinds nasty stuff, never brought anything home. A nurse we know, has been taking care of a person with corona for an entire month. She was just tested and she is not infected. Here is some more happy; Subject: Socializing on Hiatus Restraint from socializing does not mean the end of humor: Half of us are going to come out of this quarantine as amazing cooks. The other half will come out with a drinking problem. I used to spin that toilet paper like I was on Wheel of Fortune. Now I turn it like I'm cracking a safe. I need to practice social-distancing from the refrigerator. Still haven't decided where to go for Easter ----- The Living Room or The Bedroom PSA: every few days try your jeans on just to make sure they fit. Pajamas will have you believe all is well in the kingdom. Homeschooling is going well. 2 students suspended for fighting and 1 teacher fired for drinking on the job. I don't think anyone expected that when we changed the clocks we'd go from Standard Time to the Twilight Zone This morning I saw a neighbor talking to her cat. It was obvious she thought her cat understood her. I came into my house, told my dog..... we laughed a lot. So, after this quarantine.....will the producers of My 600 Pound Life just find me or do I find them? Quarantine Day 5: Went to this restaurant called THE KITCHEN. You have to gather all the ingredients and make your own meal. I have no clue how this place is still in business. My body has absorbed so much soap and disinfectant lately that when I pee it cleans the toilet. Day 5 of Homeschooling: One of these little monsters called in a bomb threat. I'm so excited --- it's time to take out the garbage. What should I wear? I hope the weather is good tomorrow for my trip to Puerto Backyarda. I'm getting tired of Los Livingroom. Classified Ad: Single man with toilet paper seeks woman with hand sanitizer for good clean fun.
