Lockdown Lowdown 2: Lets tinker with the 41 pickup.
Hello. Welcome to another fun packed video from Mart's Garage. What better way to spend a lockdown Sunday afternoon than tinkering on the old 41 pickup. What shall we have a mess with today? Wipers? Ok, lets have a look at the wipers.
Longer format to while away some lockdown time. I had terrible audio problems. You might need to adjust the volume a bit. Like, comment subscribe in that order, please. Thank you. Mart. https://youtu.be/edfvfb78Tag |

Re: Lockdown Lowdown 2: Lets tinker with the 41 pickup.
Someone here on the Barn mentioned that Marvel Mystery Oil would help to rejuvenate the leather flap in the vacuum motor. While I had the engine and tranny out of my F1 I connected a hose to the wiper motor and zip tied it to the steering wheel. Over the course of 2-3 months I'd dribble a few drops down the hose now and then. My truck has dual wipers so takes even more umpf to get them moving. Being the skeptical type, I still can't believe how well they are working now.

I think if you put a hose on the wipe motor and put the other end in a container of MMO or ATF, I’ve heard of some using brake fluid, and manually moving the arms it will draw the fluid in to the motor......Mark

If you're going to do this, put a rag or towel down on the front floor with as much under the wiper motor as possible. That excess lubricant has to go somewhere. Ask me how I know.

I pumped some MMO into my wiper motor and found a small puddle on the floor of my car, turns out a section on the wiper hose under the dash was cracked.
