Default High Compression Head....What do you think?

I was looking through the Mikes-A-Fordable wish book and came across a High Compression Head. Looks just like a stock head. Not refurbished. All new. 5.5-1 ratio. $325.00. Very reasonable as compared to other high compression heads that I have looked at recently. Has anyone had any experience with this head. Pro or Con. I am thinking about putting one on my Townsedan. I have the "B" Police head (vintage equipment) on my Tudor. Don't feel that I need any more compression than that. What do you think?

Most of the vendors supply the 5.5 head. It’s actually a Snyder manufactured part. A very good option upgrade.

I agree with Carl. I have used a number of them on customers engines.
Good Day!

you can tell yourself you're doing it for the environment--you'll get better mileage! Also, for safety--you won't be holding up traffic and making people take reckless chance to pass you.

The 5:5 head is not that much more than the police head. I would save my money for something else, or go with the 6:1 head.

I run 3 cars with the 5.5 herad and they make a big difference. Model As are known for pulling at low revs. The higher compresssion head gives the bottom end of the rev range even more grunt. They copmpliment an overdive nicely.
I've never driven a car with a 6.0 head but believe they would probably be even better without giving the bearings a hard time so long as you don't advance the ignition too far.
