2013 Maintenance and Lube Day - Concord, CA
Just thought I'd share a picture of the Diablo A's wonderful day of tuning up a whole bunch of Model A's at Alex Janke's house. Whoever wanted to bring their car to get checked over and fully tuned up was welcome to, including grease all around, radiator flush, full electrical inspection, brake check and wheel alignment. Thanks to everyone in the club for their help!

Every car is up on jack stands. That's the most jack stands I've seen in one place.
The stands in the bottom left of the picture must be the thin metal 3 legged ones waiting to be recycled! I won't use them anymore after a collapse some years ago. |

You ain't a kidding there, I had one collapse and luckily I wasn't under the car. When I was a teenager (70s), that's all I remember seeing. I have some brutes now but I question some of the cheap cast stuff coming in from China. I've seen cast break easily too. |

I never use jack stands. I have several wooden blocks (about 18 inches long) made from cut up railroad cross ties. These would not turn over in an earthquake and would never collapse. They are a little heavy to move around but I always feel safe using them no matter how heavy the project vehicle I may be working on. |
