Re: Dwell RPM meter
I recommend the Sun machine as was pictured on the far right. I bought mine new in 1973 and still have it and it still works well. It does not have a battery compartment. You just hook the cables up. Marv

Re: Dwell RPM meter
Here's an Orbit Laboratories 300X. They were sold at the Ford parts counter when the '71 Pinto hit the street, as an optional part of a DIY tool kit you could buy if you wanted to do the maintenance yourself.
It's unusual in that it is a Tach/Dwell meter with a timing light built in. It'll work for 4/6/8 cylinder applications. |

Re: Dwell RPM meter
I was just looking for one myself and came across this one on Amazon. Reviews look good.

Re: Dwell RPM meter
Wow , how complicated can they make it ! If you don't have a use for all the functions ,other than volts, dwell , tach , I'd look for an older 4 wire simple gauge . Less apt to mess up or translate chinglish instructions .

Here is one I have. My Dad bought it in the fifties. Have used it many times.

Couldn't disagree more. Old Fords and hot rodding are hotter than ever. Expand your horizons and check out events like TROG or Santa Ana Drags and various others.
