Default electric fuel pump

After a long and good life ethanol ate my electric fuel pump diaphragm. It turned it to black, gooey tar.

Wondering if replacements are available. The pump has no maker's name on it. The only markings other than IN and OUT are:

Model 6V-E11M
Pat. No. 3273086
10-76 (Maybe a date?)

Does anyone recognize this? It's a standard-looking pump but I hate to replace something that's reparable. Thanks.

Might provide a photo of it or one that looks somewhat similar to it. I would not know what a "standard-looking" pump looked like. They range from cubes, to small cylinders to larger cylinders to the holly type. Would also help to know if it was an impulse style or vane style.

I would find a pump without a diaphram, this way there is nothing
to get all gummed up.

Here's a thread where a 6volt E11M pump is mentioned.
http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51373
Here's a repair service for them.

Here's more sites to search through. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...e11m+fuel+pump Any fuel pump with the old style rubber diaphragm will not hold up with today's fuel. Suggest you use those old pumps as remembrances of the past, when gas was gas and diaphragms would last.

Don't bother to fix it. The alcohol has attacked all rubber parts. I have the Airtex inline pump on my convertible, and it runs fine without a pressure regulation. C&G (800-266-0470) sells the 6 volt kit 11A-9350-E6 6V. for $70. The 12 volt version 11A-9350-E12 is $62. They come with mounting hardware and hoses. We don't use the spring clamps, The worm gear type and barbed connectors are best.

Thanks for the tips. The thread Fordy19 mentioned was the first time this pump gave out. Followed the advice then but got a diaphragm that totally dissolved. Some good info here. Thanks.

You need a pump rated for alcohol.
