Default '39 Standard Coupe

A friend (Tom/SC) has had this '39 Standard Coupe in storage for years. We pushed it out the other day so that we can begin to restore it. Underneath all the accumulated "patina," it's actually a very solid car. He still has the original headlight buckets, so the aftermarket sealed beams are available if anyone needs them

It looks really good and should be a beauty when restored.

Keeps us posted with the progress.

Fred,I wasn't referring to the headlights,,I just want to see the stash of cars he has hidden away.

BTW,,I bet he said "There's that ladder I've been looking for!

I just got off the phone with Tom and he said he got that car in 1965,,wow!

I was a mere teenager in '65 and now I'm a greybeard! HRP

Hey "Swoop" I know that it has a 39 Deluxe bumper and guards, so you can help me out by trading me a pair of 39 standard bumpers and guards. I might have some other 39 or 40 parts that I might trade you! How are things on the oil rig? I also need a left side front fender inner panel for this car. The two clowns who owned it before me installed a 283 Chebby in the car and cut a large hole in the inner panel. I bought he car minus the Chebby. Best regards, Tom

Here's some "before & after" pictures of the one I got my hands on in mid 2006. Yes, that's the original paint! I had it completed and shown at Dearborn in 2008. Man, time flies!
This car had been in the same family since new.
Totally rust free and unmolested made for one of the easier restorations I've ever done.

Currently, I am doing another to match this one in both color and interior. I hope to have it ready for Lake Tahoe.

Here's a few pictures of the one I am currently restoring. I have only the front clip and running boards, plus detailing remaining to do. This car was a Midwest vehicle and miraculously rust free. It did receive one repaint in the distant past. The picture of the car without the front clip is a "before" depiction.
