....just to clarify, "The Henry Ford" is the overall parent name of the organization which consists of five different attractions and one school. Here are the six components of "The Henry Ford":

The Henry Ford
1. Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation
2. Greenfield Village
3. The Ford Rouge Factory Tour
4. The Henry Ford Giant Screen Experience
5. Benson Ford Research Center
6. Henry Ford Academy

Each component if "The Henry Ford" is described on "The Henry Ford" web site here (click on the underlined text).

Here is the link to The Henry Ford video explaining the museum's name change.

Fordially,
Brad in Maryland

On trip across the U.S. in 1973 in my '28 roadster pickup I visited the (Henry Ford Museum) as it was called then. His goal was to preserve the advance of technology in all facets of life.through the years in the U.S. The recent name change could be the managements way of continuing Henry's ideas. Even back then there were only 4-5 Fords in the museum.

I agree it makes a lot of sense to the new name... it helps to describe exactly what it is to the rest of the public who may not know or understand.. and hopefully open the door to many more who may potentially think of visiting. After all... we need lots of young people to come to appreciate Henry Ford and the cars the he and Edsel and others at Ford designed and built.

Have been there a number of times and it is always awesome. Even my young ( at the time) daughter was enthused. The Henry Ford Museum made sense.. " The Henry Ford" did not.

Mitch, the "T" guys around here have assembled one in 7 minutes.... you're probably fast but not that fast... and theirs was running when done.

Who cares what they call it....
it's what inside it that counts. Actually, who knows how much $$$ was spent to some agency/group/self-identified mensa's to come up with a new name! At the end of the day the consultants, logo changes, letterheads, etc probably cost seven-figures. Geez Louise
It actually is a really neat place.

I don't know what "13abc.com" is so I am not going to click on the link, just the way I cope with junk mail.

But so far nobody has said just what the new name will be. Could someone post that name, please?

Thanks

Names are funny things. A British scientist by the name of James Smithson gave a pile of money to the US. If you did not know what the Smithsonian Institute is you would not have a clue with the name.

If you lived dangerously you would have seen that it is the website of a TV station in Toledo OH, channel 13.
