32 Firewall
Looking for technical help on differences between 32 Firewalls (V8 versus 4 Banger). Pics would be great.
Thanks for any guidance! |

Re: 32 Firewall
They are pretty much the same except the holes for the engine stable mount all the other parts are bolt on...

Re: 32 Firewall
The firewalls were the same between the 4 and the 8 at any given time during the production. There may be an exception for some very early trucks but I can't put my finger on where I read it. The firewalls had minor changes during the year. Holes that were not used depending on the vehicle being a 4 or an 8 were covered by the firewall insulation. An example being the holes for the engine snubber used on the 4 cylinder were there in the firewall used for an 8. The firewall (dash) is covered on pages 11-3, 11-4 and 11-5 of "The 1932 Ford Book", a copy would be a good investment. See: https://shop.efv8.org/collections/fo...tbound-all-new What is the date of the vehicle you are working on and do you have any specific questions?

The photos depict the first, fourth, and fifth versions. The first is of a RHD firewall, but the only difference between it and the LHD version is the absence of the opening for the LHD accelerator pedal and the holes for the LHD accelerator cross shaft plus a couple of holes for the RHD accelerator cross shaft. The second and third version are the same as the first with the addition of the four holes for the four-cylinder stabilizer base and the addition of a pair of holes (not used) in the horizontal surface of the indentation on the left side (right side in the photo) of the firewall |
