Default Original Orange Stripped Inlet Hose

"A" FORDBARNERS ...........................
This shows the true color of the "red" stripe on the "A" radiator hoses. The reproductions are a little too red.

The ink on the box sure looks like it faded from the original color.

I'm sure it has. The hoses have been protected by the box for decades. The hoses actually look a little bit more orange, than shows in the photo.

Do the reproductions have the cloth reinforcement?

Yes, just not as many cords. The give-away for me appears that the orange stripe is thicker and imbedded deeper on the originals as to imply the orange stripe on the repro is a thin rubberized paint.

The stripe relates to sealing the edge of the fabric wrapping. Hoses were made at some point which were all black (not sold by Ford) with the same construction but there was still a visible stripe even though it was black.
