Default Brake question

I am rebuilding the brakes on my 30 coupe. When I start reassembling all the new parts on the backing plates should I put a little grease on the pins, wedges, rollers and adjusters or leave them dry?

Absolutely, put some grease on them. I still prefer the graphite grease even though it is the messiest stuff around. I just finished scrubbing my hands again with Lava and Boraxo because of my rear brakes.

I can't answer what you SHOULD do but what I did was I put spray on grease on the roller axles and chassis grease on the adjusting wedges and filled the adjusting cavity, where the cam resides, with chassis grease. I left all of the brake shoe pins dry.

I also used grease on all the moving brake parts, pins, wedges etc...

I used this stuff.....I bought it locally, probably O'reillys... this link is just an example...
