Default '56 Parklane rear seat differences.

I know the Parklane rear seat is unique to the car but what I'm wondering is what else is changed? Is the seat narrower because of the armrests? Is the latch different? I'm swapping a Parklane seat into another wagon and am finding out it's not a straight forward deal.

Do you have the donor car (Parklane) or just the seat assy?

Just the seat assembly. I cut the female latch base off the wheel tub and moved it inward to make it line up.

Now I'm looking for a cargo area latch and fold down back seat bumpers.

The Parklane, because of the reduced seat back width, used an extension to reach the latch on the wheelhouse.

Is it an actual latch? FORD calls it a catch I assume to just keep the panel from vibrating.

You're working with a '55 Ranch Wagon?

Your right. It's called a catch. I didn't know what to call it. Yes, where swapping a '56 Parklane seat into a '55. I have the different male part that attaches to the seat. Just had to move the "catch" in some.

The PN on the catch is B5A 5945844-A. I GOOGLED it and came up with nothing. Maybe find a take-off?

The bumpers may be found at DORMAN, AUVECO or AMK. All have cataloging on the net.

Maybe a few pictures when you are done?

Hi RocketsGarage

I don’t know if this is relevant for your situation, but I looked at the bracket on the backseat of my Parklane and it appears different than yours. I don’t know if there have been any alterations to my car. First time trying to post pictures so I may have failed in my attempt.

And here is the other part of the assembly that hasn’t been installed.

On my Parklane the piece you're holding no longer holds the male part firmly and it squeaks goin' down the road.
I've tried shrink tubing on male part works fine until it wears a hole--- short lived. Have put white grease on female part works for a bit and then goes back to squeaking.
I wonder if there is a way to reenergize the metal hold/spring.

Mine is different, weird. I think I've got mine all sorted out. Now I'm on the hunt for the other small parts we're needing to finish this thing up....
