Left turn much sharper than right turn

Here's the pitman arm and drag link on my 28 with a 7 tooth steering, and the wheels straight ahead.

I purchased an adjustable drag link from "Machine Girl" (a regular contributor to this forum) and it arrived in New Zealand in very short time.
It appears to be an excellent product and when I fitted it, I was be able to get full lock on both sides

Richard, look at the angle of my drag link, and notice that if I installed a shortened pitman arm, the arm would have to move rearward to connect the drag link. I'd guess you are using a shortened pitman arm, is that correct?

I agree. A picture like mine and another picture of the left wheel steering arm would help to see the problem.

I've heard others say that installing the short pitman arm has caused the steering wheel to be a little off center, but it didn't seem like it was as much as this problem is.

Problem solved. Moving the contact between worm and sector by 1 tooth made everything fit and work properly. The Pitman arm angles slightly to the rear as Tom said it should when the wheels are straight.

I do have a shortened Pitman arm, about 5 inches center to center. The ends do not reach the locking nuts when fully turned. This is a penalty for having the shortened arm.

As to pictures, I certainly benefit when they are shown. Over the years I have tried to post pictures, but was not successful. I have copied a couple of different instructions on how to do it, so I will try again in the near (?) future.

thanks for the answer. Purdy has said that the slight issues you may have with the short arm on the 7 tooth box are non-existent with the 2 tooth box

gives way easier steering either way

Have you tried posting them lately? They are much easier to post post than before the major change to Fordbarn.
