Default 37 guages

Greetings: starting to re-wire instrument panel on disassembled cluster. Noticed the brass strip between the oil pressure and gas guage is missing. Not knowing the thickness of the brass, any reasons why a 6v capable copper wire would'nt work? Thanks for your time

No electrical difference between the two solutions.

A wire will work fine.

Copper is better than brass but a 16 gauge jumper wire will do the trick. Some folks take them off if converting to 12-volt and utilizing the little constant voltage regulators for each individual gauge.
