Numerous times I have tried posting pictures unsuccessfully from my iPad. I am told that the Ford Barn will not accept iPad pictures as they are too large. Is that so?

And it is just not for the bandwidth and storage of your pics on the site..... it saves us poor bastards wasting our bandwidth downloading your pics of huge megabytes when a much smaller pic is good enough to view what you want us to see.

For instance i have only so much gigabyte allowance each month, and when some one posts a heap of pics in the one post, it costs me heaps of lost bandwidth to download them.

I don't mind seeing them once, but if a heap of large pics appear, I will boycott that thread until a second page appears.

Don't wanna sound grumpy, but I always shrink my pics for the tolerance of others bandwidth.

For those who know how, it might be helpful if someone would post an explanation on how to reduce the size of photos using an ipad. Then, Johnsor could add his photos in the future. I use an ipad but don't seem to have any problem posting photos so I don't know how the reduction is done.

My iPhone photos load fine, too. I also load photos by pasting from Photobucket. That provides large images. Not sure what it means in terms of file size for those on limited data plans. There are a bunch of threads on loading photos, so it should be easy to find one.

I have a Samsung tablet, and I use an app called "4educe Photo Size." I have it on both my tablet and my android phone, and it seems to work quite well and is very easy to use. I don't know if the apple store has this available, but I'm sure they'll have something similar.

This works on a Mac, so it may also work on an iPad. While the photos app and the finder (when using quick view) will will display pictures that fit on your screen the picture may be actually be much larger. A quick way to get a smaller size picture that the Barn will accept is to first display the picture, then take a screenshot of the picture (http://www.tekrevue.com/tip/how-to-c...s-in-mac-os-x/)

If you have set the prefs for screenshot to create JPGs and save to your desktop then pictures that you can upload to the barn will appear there.

Since the iPad can also do screen shots (http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/...eenshot-ipad//), this technique should also work for the iPad.

Above my computer picture posting skills. I understand recent iPads can reduce a picture size for sending. Ford Barn must allow only a small size as I have no problem sending iPad images to others. I just won't bother.

Much to my wife's displeasure, I lowered the default setting on my little pocket camera low enough so that I could post pictures here and so that they would be able to be eMailed from my account without having to change the size. That way, everything I take, I can send. She likes to take pictures with her Nikon SLR camera at about 1.5 million pixels. Those just don't work for me.

Sometimes it's easier to take a picture of a picture with your phone then do as Gary said.

Johnsor
From a former Wis-Night (Rice Lake). I've always had trouble. Recently I tried to post a picture I received off the Barn and it was to big, buy the time I made it smaller you couldn't read it. It's frustrating.

What's up with that picture?
If that's a Model A engine, that valve is really recessed.
