Jim,
Glad to see you back in full swing. We’ve been gone a week and I drove into work today to get caught up on many things one of which was distributors as well. Interesting as one of the ones I had to do today was a “99” shaft and weight distributor. It’s only the second one I’ve ever seen. They perform similar to a 11a, and from what I’ve researched they were used on Early 39 Mercury’s.

Jim/Bubba, Here I am many States away and still keeping track of your life/issues. Good on you for being back at the grind.

I said this before, but hot sauce is a possible solution in any circumstance. Possible, but not always optimal.

Hijack coming...

Somebody school me please. Which helmets have two coil mounting holes and which ones have three.

P.S. [Sarcasm font] I'm available for wheel-man on the truck if you run short of volunteers.

Tangled, I think they went to two screws in 1937....

Jeff, didn’t mean to hijack Jim’s thread either, but late 1936 used a unique two bolt coil that is late 36 only. Then 37-41’s used a two bolt coil that is the more commonly seen variety. The 37-41’s has three different weight and shaft assemblies. The 68, 99, and 11A.

Mike , You make me feel bad, 10 distributors in your picture i havent ever built 10 helmets in one day???? You must have a elf down there (or a trained goat) ... I will show Terry (my part time guy) this picture today to pump him up.....

And you did hijack the thread.
I call it "thread drift" when the discussion changes abruptly??

9 in a day is very hard work, considering I no longer have employees.

I’m glad to see your back at it strong and adjusting to your new lifestyle.
