Vintique's Fuse Block Assembly

I bought 2 Fuse Block Assemblies...the ones made by Vintique, and I have a problem with both of them.



First of all these are one of the best accessories on the market for what they do HOWEVER ...just try to get the fuse out. I am unable to get either fuse out because they are so tight in the block itself. If at all, they should come out without any problem but when you got it installed on the starter, it is even harder!



I DO NOT want to try to pry them out with a screwdriver or anything else for fear of breaking the fuse.



I bought some a few years back of which I have one on my 1929 Standard Coupe and can remove the fuse with ease with my fingers, which I do when I am not driving it, because there is a good gap between the fuse and the block itself to allow good upward movement and the fuse comes out with ease.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Is there a better one on the market?

I have had that problem, but always thought with electrical connections the tighter the better. So I put a tie wrap around the middle of the fuse and left a little tail to grab if I needed to pull the fuse out.

I always put a zip tie around the fuse before installing it. Very east to pull the zip tie and remove the fuse.

The zip tie is for sure the way to go as the previous posts advise . I have the zip tie on the starter fuse block made by vintique on 6 cars ,some are very tight but I have never broken a fuse (yet !!!)

Some wire terminal kits have plastic pullers, for both the round & the bayonet types of fuses!---Put on on your KEY RING!

Fun projects sells a waterproof , inline fuse that works perfect. You may want to try it as it is safe and does the job nicely. I had the kind that you are referring to and had it melted to the top of the starter taking out the holder in the process.

Fuses fit tight to assure good electrical contact and heat transfer! There is a fuse removal tool I carry in my drivers side pocket along with spare fuses. Got it after a situation such as you describe. A picture of a similar type tool is attached

Thanks Guys...Looks like I need to get one of those fuse tools.

Harbor Freight or NAPA should carry them.
