I've chatted with him recently on email. It usually takes a day for him to return. I did read he was taking vacation, doctors orders.

Hey Guys, I am usually on the Model A forum, but now have a 21 stud on the stand, so looking at both forums. I have the misfortune to be ready to test drive my car after a 2 1/2 year build, but my distributor is with Jim. I don't have a plan B, but looks like I'm going to have to buy another dizzy to get on the road. I have communicated with Jim over the 3 months since he received it, I know he has been sick and communication is not his strong suit to begin with. I work in the medical field and know how serious his health needs to be taken. That being said, I would hope he suspends all new orders, gets his health in order, finish the jobs on the bench and after a sabbatical decide where to go with the business.

What distributor do you want to run? I could loan you one.

Good on you Russ. I agree lack of a distributor should not stop progress on any Flathead project. Plan B is a substitute sparkerator, they are one of the most available assemblies in my experience.

Jim,
Praying that the Lord guide your doctors, fills you with His peace and brings you back to good health. Sometimes God has a way of getting us to slow down. Brother, your health is what's important, the rest is just "stuff". Chap

Thanks for the generous offer Russ. My distributor is an early cast iron Mallory for my 4 banger. Yes, it would be so much easier if i had the flathead in it! I had a nice B distributor, but it went in a trade for other parts...kicking myself over that one, but LARS is this weekend so I think I will find something out there, I need a back up in any case. Again, thank you for the offer.

In the same situation as Nosetime. Let's hope Jim gets healthy. In the mean time all we can do is wait.

@LQQKer sorry to hear that. I guess I was feeling a little better after he cashed my check on April 12th a month after he received it. I assumed that to mean I would be seeing it shortly after that. Hope we both get squared away soon. I do have to say at this point surely there is someone who can reach out to his customers on his behalf with an update?

When I first heard of his type of problem, I felt it was big trouble for him. Those type of toxic ailments can cause irreversible consequences. Pray that not be his fate.
