spend $25 for the Restoration Guide & Judging Standards.
Their information comes from decades of research in the Ford Archives.
The manual is available from either MAFCA or MARC and from most parts vendors.
It is more accurate than what Uncle Phil remembers from what he heard from his buddy Larry in 1957.

The only problem is there is no answer to this in the JS. At least not one I could find. Anyone?

BadgerA asked if stainless was offered on the late 31 pickups. We know that A/C or FM radio was not offered as an option, I'd wager that you could ask for stainless in lieu of painted. Why not? Times were changing. One question that I have is What was the deal with the new 1932's. Painted, stainless or choice? And while we're at it, how many licks does it take to get to the chocolaty center of a tootsie pop. The world wants to know

It looks like the RGJS section 15 covers the commercial vehicles as far as the radiator shell, head lamps, tail lamps, and cowl band.

Also, "The Ford Model A as Henry Built It" has a section for The 1930-1931 Commercial Vehicles (starting page 176). Page 179 lists the Deluxe Delivery, Town Car Delivery, and Special Delivery as having rustless steel brightwork (same as found in the RGJS).

Thanks, Neil. I was looking in the truck section. I think we can assume since they don't state that bright parts for pickups were an option that none left the factory with them.

Of course dealers may have "dolled up" some either at customers' requests or for their inventory. I don't think we can count what dealers added or changed to sell vehicles as "stock" however.
