Default multi plate clutch

I have some multi plate flywheels. On some, the splines for the clutch are part of the flywheel, and on others, the splines are a separate item and bolted to the flywheel. Are the bolt on splines a variation of the original setup, or has someone in the past machined off worn splines and fitted replacement splines?

I have never seen a multi-plate flywheel with bolted in splines. Got any pix?

I have seen one bolt on style. Unfortunately the area that bolted to the crank shaft was broke out. I think it was likely thinner in that area which contributed to its failure. Rod

I have one, regular [not bolted] that is every bit like it was when new---no wear at all in the splines. Also have the complete clutch ass. on a transmission with housing and pedals & linkages. All came out of a low mileage coupe in the fifties. [email protected]
