Hemmings 46-48 8BA?
The October issue of Hemmings classic car has a 37 Ford fire wagon on page 84. They say its a 46-48 8BA, that's a new one on me. It doesn't look like an 8BA and they're a year early. I like their magazine but expected a little more accuracy. Just venting.....

Re: Hemmings 46-48 8BA?
I thought the truck engines were 8RT? I know they are the same for the most part but Hemmings said 46-48 8BA? I know its trivial but thats probably the magazine I read the most.

That's OK, their model A calender shows a 30 p/up for sept but it's identified as a 29.

Re: Hemmings 46-48 8BA?
Based on looking at the head and where the hose connects, it's more likely a 59AB rather than a 8BA .

They are all 8BAs as far as most folks are concerned. Thats trivial. I always refer to the engine as an 8BA. I mean, once you strip them down they are all the same underneath........ Ha, Thats a good line! |

Re: Hemmings 46-48 8BA?
I noticed this too when I first read the story,by the way the story is a recycled one from 2004 Hemmings Special Interest. They state in the article the original "push rod" brakes were replaced with hydraulics, push rod brakes? Not cable brakes? Engine has front mount distributor as 59A and earlier. What got my attention was the wasting of a brand new 1937 Ford Cabriolet to make a vehicle for what they called Class C firemans rig contests. They removed the rear body and doors from a brand new cabriolet, wonder if they are still around in someones garage attic. I would rather have the cabriolet .

Re: Hemmings 46-48 8BA?
Thank you. I could put it in Hemmings and say it has a 41 8BA.
