Default 1929 Canadian National Parks Buffalo HELP!!!!

Hey In Canada from 1925 until about 1940 these metal buffalo were used as a anaual park pass to Canada's National Parks. I have been looking for one for my 1929 Phaeton for years...does anyone have one for sale or know of someone that does??? They were attached to the Radiator or stone gaurd on the front of the model A....Im willing to pay up to $200.00 for one....Every one had the year stamped on it...But the 29 only had a 9 on it...They are small in size and would fit in the palm of your hand. I have been told that some people have seen them at American Swap Meets. Its the final touch I need to make my Phaeton Perfect. Any help or leads would be great....

You might have to up the $200 for the early ones.
I've seen them go for as much as $750.
I'm too embarrassed to tell you how much I paid for mine.

The parks buffalo emblems were made from different metals as well, depending on the year. I was lucky to find a 1931 copper one for my coupe. They can be quite expensive.

Not every year had the year stamp.

1925-27 had no year stamp.

One collector is offering $1500 for one of those.

Later years not so rare and don't get the big bucks like the early ones.

1937 on ebay right now. Nice shape.

I bought a 1929 last August in Toronto and I paid $ 550 after talking him down from $ 750. I had been looking for 5 years and it was the first one I had come across and he knew they were very rare !
Good luck at $ 200 dollars !

I guess I'm no buffalo hunter. When I first read Ryan's $200 offer I thought that was way too much.

He sold them for up to 400 each, that does not seem to be much cheaper and I am told the 1929 is second hardest to find ! I am willing to pay 400 for another for my 29 truck !

So, do I understand correctly that the goal is to attach something that is that valuable and which fits in the palm of your--or anyone else's--hand to your radiator? Wow, and to think I worry about someone swiping my radiator cap.

I will be keeping an eye on you Steve, especially if you're carrying wire snips.

The value of something is determined by what someone is willing to pay for it.

Obviously, these Canadian Parks Badges are worth more to people with Canadian built cars and the average price just keeps going up.

Although, I don't have a 28-29' vehicle yet, If someone wants to sell me a 29' parks badge for $200, I'm buying.

Gives me an excuse to purchase a early CCPU to go with it. :roll eyes:

Here's another story on the Canadian Badges:

I wonder how carefull the 'buffalo hunter" would be with your radiator?
I'd put a higher value on my original rad core...than a buffalo badge being torn through the fins...just saying.

I did not outbid you as you said you were only willing to pay $ 200 dollars and said your friend got 2 to 400 dollars 5 years ago for less desirable ones. Does that not tell you that your price you are willing to pay is totally unrealistic ?
Instead of me outbidding you you committed salesmanship suicide !
So I say if there is someone to blame it is the person you face in the mirror !!!
