help identify thunderbird piece.

digging thru some car parts today, i came across this and i dont know what year car it belongs to and where its placed on the car? bare with me, i never owned a thunderbird. thank you for any knowledge that can be shared.

I'm guessing here but it looks like the nameplate between the tail lights of a '64.
