56 F-100 trans questions
Per the vin plate, my truck left the factory with a 3-speed. I bought it with a 4-speed, floor shift. I’d like to go back to the column shifted 3-speed or the fordomatic. Are the 4-speed with the granny low worth anything? If going the 3-speed route, is the bell housing the same? Clutch and pressure plate? If I go with the auto, is the car trans different from the truck? Thanks in advance....

Don't know what the 4spd would be worth, but the bellhousings are different between the two gear type trans, and the auto will also need the truck auto bellhousing.

Re: 56 F-100 trans questions
There were several 4-speed truck transmissions in use back in the 50s so it depends on which one it is. You will need to find a truck type bell for a lighter duty 3-speed but they are out there.

Also, the truck bellhousings 53/56 are one of A kind ,they act as the rear motor mount ,
