Re: Is This Frame Worth Anything?
On Fords the VIN is stamped into the right front frame side-rail but you can't see it unless you remove the right front bumper brackets because the number is underneath them. I do not know if Mercury did it the same way though.

Re: Is This Frame Worth Anything?
I noticed you just wanted some chassis parts.
Just a heads up, but the Mercury cars had different front spindles, front wheel bearings and races and all the brake drums from the Ford. The rear axle of the Merc has different axle shafts (with hubs having the larger bolt circle). Basically, you could take all the Merc suspension parts off collectively and swap them on a Ford frame, but you can't mix and match Ford and Merc components. I'm not sure about the upper and lower control arms. Merc may have had larger pivot pins and bushings on the lower arms. As I recall from long ago, it seems like Merc had a lot of suspension components that were heavier than the Fords. |

Re: Is This Frame Worth Anything?
On the Fords, the VIN is also stamped on the top and right side of the rear frame crossmember. Don't know if the Mercurys would be stamped in the same place or not. Ted Eaton.
