Running 2 carbs on a 3x2 manifold
I have a 49 8ba bored .100 over and 3/4 cam and Offy heads to put in a '30 A coupe. I want to run 2x2 carbs on it. I can get an Offy 3x2 manifold for reasonable money. Will the motor have good performance with the center carb spot blocked off and just running the outer carbs which will sit over the intake ports like the Offy 7106? Or should I keep looking?

2x2 manifolds are designed for two carbs, and are not expensive or hard to find. I’d keep looking.

Probably okay. There also voids from the block off. Not bad, but could be better.

Not a problem, on a street engine. But no matter which intake you use, you'll have to change the distributor. Also milling the heads for .045/.050 piston to head clearance will improve throttle response an mileage. Well worth the cost.
