What is this early in head pump w/double flange pulley for?
This came to me on a motor that was in a 36 big truck. I doubt it was original to the truck, because the motor was a 37 block and a mess of mismatched parts cobbled together. I didn't get to see how the fan belt(s) was (were) installed, but I think I remember a double row crank pulley as well. The other head had a single pulley on the pump.
I notice that there is no grease fitting and no provision for a temperature gauge fitting. Can anyone identify what this would have been on originally? Is it a standard big truck pump? I haven't seen any reference to this here on the 'Barn or in catalogs. |

It is a truck pump as you noted - looks to have the same/similar double-belt pulley as the later 39-48 truck pumps. What I don't know is whether or not it has ball bearings instead of a bushing - like the later truck pumps usually have. Do you have two of them? If so, would love to have them!

Those are later in-block pumps.
It does appear to have a sealed bearing, you can see a snap ring through the holes in the pulley. |
