Default Bigger body?

If you look at the picture under my name, you will see a car that has the bottom of the cowl of a ’30 or ’31. It’s a ’29 and I expected to see that angled forward door pillar support like other ’29’s. I love the way mine looks. Another thing, that cabriolet body sure seems bigger than a ’28-’31 roadster.

Does the fact that it has a Briggs body make it seem so different from other ’29’s?

The Cabriolets and Fordors have smooth side cowl, unlike the rest of the 28-29 lineup. Cabriolets have wider doors than roadsters, but I think the basic body dimensions are the same.

See below - overall dimensions are pretty close between cabriolet and roadster. Interestingly, the schematic shows the angled door pillar but production cabriolets did not have it.

Thank you for those two illustrations. It’s weird that they are showing the angled door pillar. Without that angled pillar, the width at the bottom of those cowls has to be at least 2” to 4” more than with the angled pillar.

Very subtle differences, thanks again,

Mike

Cabriolet has same cowl and hood as 4 door and was made by Briggs.
