stainless trim clips '36 grille
I am putting the stainless on a '36 grille not previously drilled for the trim. I think that rather than use the original spring type clips, I would like to secure the trim with those universal trim clips that have the 10-32 stud and rectangular flat metal top that can be trimmed down to fit inside the s/s trim. I can find batches of them on the 'bay, but wondering if anyone in Fordbarn world has a good source for them. Or, other suggestions for securing the trim to the grille would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try looking at part number 40-8200-HK from Bob Drake.
1934 grill trim hardware kit. I used them on my 36 for both the grill trim and the spare tire trim. Worked well. |

Re: stainless trim clips '36 grille
Thanks, 41. After looking at them, could it be that they are just small carriage bolts?

The problem with those nut plates is in certain areas you can't get a wrench or socket on the nut.I used the repo clips and they worked out fine.I got my clips from The Early Ford Store in CA

Re: stainless trim clips '36 grille
Just did a search of 10-32 carriage bolt dimensions. The square shoulder is .185 to .199 and measuring the inside slot of the s/s it looks like about .200. I think 41 may have given me a great idea to use the carriage bolts.
D.L., that's why we have drills to put holes where Henry should have. |
