Default 28 Phaeton Door Adjustment

Hello FBer's:

I'm looking to adjust the left rear door on the phaeton.
Below are pics indicating the "walk out" of the lower rear edge of the door.
All of the other doors align correctly.

My question is:
*Is there any adjustment to the hinges that can be made?
*It seems that the "body side" of the hinges are screwed into wood
framing, so these are unlikely to be adjustable (please correct if wrong).
*The "door" side of the hinges look like they may be screwed into metal,
but don't know if they have an adjustable plate behind them?
*The latch mechanism is clearly adjustable, but won't help take the
torque out of the door.

Any advice is much appreciated.
Getting ready for a little driving and this detail bugs me.

Regards,

It looks like in picture #3 that the hinge pin is badly worn ??

I think, assuming the latch and top edge of the door line up OK with the top of the quarterpanel, is to just twist the door. I know this sound harsh, but by carefully pulling the top of the door out while holding the lower side in, will usually do the trick. As far as I know, there is no adjustments to align the doors other than shimming the body blocks. Shimming only aligns the doors with the top of the body. I have a 29 phaeton, but I haven't assembled it after dismantling it to repair all the rusted and cracked panels. Let us know how it goes.

Like Fred I see a worn hinge pin. Also I think the top of the quarter panel should be pulled inward. I have a 28 Phaeton that I can measure some distance across the quarter panels if you want.

Also it looks like you have a sewn seam showing on the rear fender welt. That isn't how it should be and I'm wondering if the welt is sewn correctly.

What wrndln suggested is how I tweaked the front door on mine. It seemed scary to try, but it worked.

I question whether a worn hinge pin is going to push the bottom of that door out that much? ! ? ! ??

You're right, it isn't, but was just a noted part that should be fixed before final door adjustment is made. With good pins and alingment the door is not likely to fly open on bumps or sharp turns.
