Default What I Do on MY "lunch hours"

It's been about 14 months of "lunch hours" but this '39 coupe is finally done. This is the second '39 standard coupe I've done in the past five years. Both are 100% stock / authentic restorations.
Perhaps now I can devote more time to the '40 coupe and '40 convertible projects!
I'm tired...

Looking good Kube, love that curved SS side panel strip, gives them a racy look. Beautiful job. And the superb fiddle back graining on the dash,my favorite style of graining. ken ct.

With all that devoted time and result, would hope to see this one on a V8 times cover for next years 75th. The tenacious tone in your threads carries over into your work, very detailed indeed Kube.

With this coupe and Seth's P/U, I'm liking the blue on these 39's.

Kube, that's one heck of a nice looking lunch hour project! Beautiful job. Will that one be at Tahoe so we can see it up close?

Well done, take a nap then go out there and hit it. It's nice to see that there are still some out there with patience and the drive for perfection.

Awesome, your work is impeccable. Will that car be at Tahoe? Maybe while doing the 40s you will be able to use those projects as examples for the 40 book. Thanks for sharing those great pictures.

Thanks for the kind words.
I doubt this one will make it to Tahoe although I may have one or two other cars I've done there. Been a bit too busy with the '40 coupe project.
Next year I hope to have this one and the (current) 40 coupe project at the midwest show.

Jefferson Blue. I managed to find quite a nice area beneath both the headliner and door panel to match.

Hi All,

Hey Kube, this thread recently popped up again.

Any chance we can get a few more teaser photos? That 'midwest meet' is coming soon. I can't wait to see the car in person, if it's still coming. I'm planning on being in Springfield.

https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showth...hlight=central

The last time we crossed paths was on the show field at Saratoga Springs. One of your woodie cars was getting rained on, no I take that back, it was POURING on the cars right in the middle of concourse judging, our Phaeton included. (Sorry if that is bringing back a bad memory.) Hopefully things turned out well for you that day. It sure was a good trip for me and Dad.

(That show was where we met a fella that bought a bunch of V8-60 stuff and was happy to get it. He saved us from hauling it home, he doesn't know the favor he did. Saw about six of them today! Plus an engine with Ardun heads, at the Eastern Museum Of Motor Racing, while pre-running a tour route for our ENM.)

-VT/JeffH

P.S. I'd like to get a handshake too if that's possible.

Hi Jeff,
VERY good to hear from you.
And yep, I recall the rain well. Didn't last long but sure did pour!
Still, things turned out quite well that day.
I will be at Springfield and from what I understand that 39 coupe will be there as well. plus, maybe, just maybe, I'll be showing another one I did after that one.
I am doing another '40 convertible that I hope to have ready but am not 100% certain I will.
I look forward to seeing you again.
