Looking for a 12 volt blower motor for my 47 sedan

I have a 1947 Ford Fordor Sedan with a inline 226 Six Cylinder motor... When I first got the motor running in 2016, I removed the ARVIN aftermarket heater... I am in the process of restoring the heater, core is good, holds pressure, no leaks, I cleaned up & repainted the components.. But I can't find a replacement 12 volt blower motor.. Early Ford Store in San Dimas had the large style, large shaft motor..
I need a motor with a 1/4" inch diameter shaft, and the 1/8" inch attachment bolts that are approximately just under 2" inches apart.. I have not tried C & G as of yet.. they list a universal motor with 1/4"inch shaft.. but at a cost of $185.. Any other sources out there? I will also post in the WTB section

NAPA 12 volt motor # is 6551022, 6 volt # is 6551021. Tr these. I found a motor in a Toyota 4runner that worked pretty well(12V)

You could have a local electric motor repair shop rewire your existing motor for 12 volts. My '47 was converted to 12 volt and a ceramic resister is used to reduce the voltage for the 6 volt motor .... a quick and inexpensive solution.

If the original 6 volt motor works, then you have the cheapest solution in your hands.
Run it on 12 volts (it will just run faster)
If you want it to run slower then add a suitable voltage drop resistor.

When I rewired my '46 I used one from Dennis Carpenter, part number B6A-18527-B. The info on the motor itself is Fasco, 12V., 2807-406-074. Has 1/4" shaft with an adaptor to 5/16" shaft. In 2003 I paid $100.75.

51 Merc is dead on. My heater motor is 6v and I am converted to 12v. Been running 2 yrs now without a problem.

Take your tape measure to the pick your parts. Every one there is 12 Volts.

I am running 6v windshield wiper motor and heater motor on 12v using voltage reducers rated at 10 amps. Doesn't generate as much heat under the dash as using resistors.

A generator repair shop wanted $400 minimum for the re-winding..
I took advice from fordor41 made here.... And I got a motor that fit from NAPA part no. 655-1022.. 12 volt.. the motor had top & bottom mounting studs.. so I had to shorten the top studs to fit within the heater housing (I used a hacksaw, I wanted to do a clean cut with a friend's dremel tool, but I got impatient since my buddy wasn't home) however the distance between 1/8 inch mounting bolts is 2 5/16ths..and overall diameter of the body is three inches.. with 1/4 inch shaft.. luckily the heater core housing actually had two extra mounting holes for the wider 2 5/16th mount.. and the cavity was just over 3 1/4" inches.. so it fit.. but... just barely... $39.14 out the door.. When I first bought the car in 2016, the heater was installed with all hoses, wires hooked up.. I had no leak issues.. After I disassembled the core from the heater box, I had it pressure tested at a radiator shop.. OK bill of health, clean & no obstructions (the shop DID NOT RECOMMEND hot tanking the core, they said that would destroy it..)
I included some before & after photos of the rebuild.
Now need some wiring advice; I want to use the original switches, I also have a separate switch for the separate defroster blower (sits in the conch-shell fan shroud, still need another motor for that) which is mounted under the driver's side dash. What is the best way to wire it? I have a modern fuse box system, should I wire it off one of the hot leads (I am assuming my new wire loom has a marked hot lead for heater, new jeep style loom) what size amp fuses should I use? SORRY for the long post! And thanks all for advice.. Fordbarner's are the best!

ALSO, for those who might ask, I used black high heat paint for the parts of the heater because that is what I had left over from painting my wheel hubs.. I know I could have used a hammer-tone paint as original, but, I wasn't being that purist in my rehabilitation project! This is not a concourse car..

I looked on aliexpress. OK they're made in china but there are plastic & metal 12 volt blowers, and even ones with heater cores.

Now that's really funny, considering that the coldest month of the year where it's located has an average temperature of around 58° F.

When it rains, the window fogs up.. which is why defrosters were invented, although I don't have seatbelts, I do prefer to see out the windows when I drive for safety reasons... Also, just because the average temp in the coldest month is 58 degrees, doesn't mean it doesn't get colder.. I've been at Camp Roberts Army Base (Paso Robles) in June where the temp in the day was 90 + and the evening dropped to 25 degrees.. now, it wasn't a matter of choice I was raised in So. Calif, but I guess it was a matter of choice when I left the active Air Force & got a job in my hometown (I swore I would never return to L.A. when I joined the A.F.).. Regardless, if I lived in a colder climate, I would still drive my car in the winter... And at this point, I am just waiting to retire so I can move to Idaho or Montana...

If you have a multimeter with an amp setting, set to highest amp setting, connect the meter leads in series with the motor and run. keep dropping the amp setting until you get a clear amp reading. also stop and start the motor with the meter connected to get an "inrush" amp reading and fuze to the highest reading.
