Thanks everyone, back at home & feeling good. Getting back to normal stuff is my best therapy. I "think" the hammer blow to my head cleared my brain of some cobwebs.
Nurse said my TIMING seems to be spot ON, I told her to search Fordbarn to be sure it's OK.
Dog's OK, after being "home alone" for 2 weeks, he's a REAL TROOPER!
Almost came home naked (EEK)---My dirty laundry was LOST, for 2 weeks, was sporting someones'??? old clothes, from the LOST & FOUND, NOTHING matched & NO UNDERWEAR (EEK, again)---LOL---The CUTE Gals loved it! One said FIG LEAVES were out of season!

Hey Bill, You didn't lose your sense of humor and that's good! Most of whatever you lost will come back! It just takes time and therapy! When I had mine, I sounded like I had a mouth full of marbles. Most of my speech has come back, I still stutter occasionally But it's all good! Best of luck!

SERIOUSLY, Like MANY of you, I've had a shitload of traumas & without some "humor", I don't think I could have endured them!
Gregg (RIP) once said, "Dad, you're a good dude to take care of Mom, with dementia, for 8 1/2 years"!-----"Well, if I had dementia, she'd take care of me"!-----"NOPE, she'd put you in a Funny Farm"!----GOD, I miss his twisted "humor"------

Bill,

Glad you are back and OK !!!!!

Still have not determined if John Rude, your Auto Shop teacher is relation ?

The last person I met with the last name Rude was a Mining Engineer in Cherry Creek, Nevada; he was full blooded Norway, no relation.

I think Buster was too busy looking up those Adult Web pages while Bill wasn't around to keep him on the straight and narrow. "shame Buster, shame"

There you are, Brother Bob
I think of you often, when pondering Vermins' ZIP-A-RAK
Buster T. didn't lose weight, my DEAR Friends, across the street, kept his food topped up & socialized with him.
Like here on Ford Barn, it's GREAT to have friends that give a shit about Me & my Dog.
Grateful Bill W.

Bill,
I have been there and done that. The worst part was having to stay in the Hospital during the Xmas season.

Getting back into the model A hobby was a direct result of my stroke. I felt that resurrecting all my old model A restoration skills and knowledge would be good for me. It was!

Just to let you know that the brain does heal with time. When I first got home I found that my short term memory was fried! It was like living in a world where stuff just disappeared. I would put some thing down and not remember that I did, so to me it had just disappeared! That is all better now. I am now back to misplacing things at me old "normal" rate!

The only on going effect of the stroke is that during a conversation, occasionally a word will be a little slow to come to me. Luckily that is not an issue when typing a post.

Bill, hang in there, keep yourself busy, challenged, and soon you be back to normal. Or at least as normal as you were before the stroke!

Terry,
I noticed a "lisp" in the L/H side of my mouth, but it's getting better. Most folks don't notice it.

I wondered why we were'nt hearing from you. Glad to see your comments again, your big black bold font is like sheet music to my eyes. And if you must know, my Marie (40b), just doesn't run the same (sputters a lot) without your tips. I did finally remember she needed her cod liver oil (MMO) just like you give youre pooch and she seems to be better now. She just doesnt like that new fangled pump cocktail they call c#%p gas! Sorry about all the contractions, I know they bug you! Praying for your speedy recovery Uncle Bill.
