Default Mud & water shield?

Did the 1946/48 Ford cars have a shield inside the fender that protected the gas filler neck and cap? If I drive in any moisture I have a mess coming out around the filler door. If they did and I can't find one, I really need to fab one.
Thanks

Yes they have a panel that fills the area in front of the gas neck right up to the top of the fender.

Here's one on ebay.

NB: Mercury and Ford are the same

If Drake isn't out of stock, what he has (had?) was good quality.

Thanks for the links. Drakes is (in the ad) even the right color. I will try to get one or the other. Opps, after reading closer, it is black. Can't see it anyway.

It's supposed to be black.

There are also felt seal strips stapled on the outside edge and part of the inside.
