Default 40 dlx. rear ash tray(s) - need a nice photo for my book. Please :)

Guys, I am in need of a nice photo of an authentic ash tray (either side will do) that's installed in a '40 deluxe Tudor sedan.
Anyone?

Thanks!

Stock style interior? My '40 has an old diamond tuck interior job. I'm not sure if the ashtrays are stock style or not. If you PM me an email i'll send you pics.

Mike, check e-Bay item #163754061041. Scroll down the ad to "full size photos" . There's a couple of shots that show the ash trays and the mounting location. Don't know if this will help or not. I think I may have a correct ash tray and can send it to you for the book if you need it. Will have to root through some junk to see if it's still there.

Looking at that pic my ashtrays are stock. Just not the panel beneath them. Nice to know.

Interesting. The chrome cover on the '40 ash tray look identical to the cover on the ash trays in my little 1968 Cessna 150.

Fairly close! Even the white part in this pic looks the same. DD

This is not only possible but probable as well.
It was somewhat of a common practice to sell parts, etc. to other companies for seemingly dissimilar usage.

I had restored a '31 Buick series 90 Opera Coupe about twenty years ago.
The pillar lamps were glass and quite ornate.
Turns out the identical glass lens and chrome frames were used in the 1950's throughout the buses built for the Chicago Transit Authority.
Also, the differential from that car (HUGE) were utilized much later in International trucks.

When I had late-30s MoPars, I found some of the small parts are the same as Fords of the era - likely the same suppliers.

Oops, not identical. The art deco detail on the center is more elaborate on the car version. thanks for the close up. Otherwise same shape and size.
