Re: 36 Car Headlight Buckets
!935 and 1936 cars use the same bucket. Different lens and rim ring.

Re: 36 Car Headlight Buckets
The basic headlight buckets on '35 & '36 pass and some light comm. vehicles, and '38-'39 trucks, are the same, but in some cases there were different hollow centered mounting bolts used, as well as glass lenses and bezels.

Re: 36 Car Headlight Buckets
If you are talking about whether the 36 passenger headlight was used on the 36 pickup/truck, the answer would be no. The 1935 passenger bucket and the 36 passenger bucket were dimensionally the same but the 36 had a significantly shorter mount so without modification it would not work on a 35. The 36 passenger bucket used a different headlight lens and headlight door than the 35 passenger bucket as pointed out by others. The 35, 36, and 37 pickup/truck buckets used the same headlight lens and headlight door as the 35 passenger bucket. There were some differences in the location of the mounting bracket but they were all dimensionally the same. In 1938 and 1939 Ford used the 1935 dimension headlight bucket on their pickups/trucks but the 36 passenger bucket would have to be modified, again because of the short stand. In 1940 and 1941, Ford used the same dimension bucket as the 35 passenger car on the pickups/trucks but they had a factory seal beam set-up. The seal beam headlight doors are not the same as the earlier passenger cars and the 1940 and 1941 seal beam headlight doors are not the same as each other.

Re: 36 Car Headlight Buckets
Hello BW,
I am new to Ford Barn. I'm looking for 36 ford pass. car headlights. I was hoping to find complete set, but will start with parts. Do you still have buckets? If so, could you e-mail some pics. of the condition of them. [email protected] Like to make a deal if they are usable. Please contact me. Thanks, Marv |

Re: 36 Car Headlight Buckets
Where is the correct measurement made to determine the diameter of '35-'36-'37 Pickup headlight buckets? Or do you just measure the diameter of the lense?

Re: 36 Car Headlight Buckets
I was told that these Head Lights were 1935 Ford. Can someone please confirm that this is correct? I have since been told that these Headlights are 1936, not 1935. Last edited by mercman from oz; 08-17-2021 at 02:55 AM. Reason: Description change |

Re: 36 Car Headlight Buckets
The Red Headlight is 1936. What year is the Cream Headlight, with the very long Mounting Bolt? |

Re: 36 Car Headlight Buckets
Cream head light is 1935 pass car. Pickups and panel trucks are again different. Here is a pic of the '35-'37 pickup/panel head light. The big trucks again different as to the location of the mounting bolt.It is further back.

Re: 36 Car Headlight Buckets
1935 Ford V8 Passenger Cars Head Light - Notice the very long mounting Bolt, unique to the 1935 Fords. |

Re: 36 Car Headlight Buckets
The long mounting bolt is not unique to 1935 Ford passenger cars. It was also used in 1938-1941 Ford trucks.

Re: 36 Car Headlight Buckets
The same basic bucket and the long mounting bolts were also used on COE until 1947. Later ones were the same as those used on 1941 trucks with the buckets having an internal assembly for fine tuning headlight aim adjustment.
