Default 1932 greasable brake/clutch pedal shaft?

Was there a option in 32 for greasable brake/clutch pedal shaft? I need to replace mine and it doesn't look home made
I know 1935 up had them

The early '32 pedal shaft version was as in your photo. There were no grease fittings in the early pedals themselves.

Shout out to DavidG . . . just love that he can look at dang near any 32 part and tell the story that fits!

Thanks for all you do - it is a GREAT help to all of us who have 32's in any form.

BTW, if you're needing to replace the shaft, you probably also need to replace the bushings in the pedals themselves. While you could probably modify the pedals to put zerks in them, I would think that a good high-quality (thicker) wheel bearing grease would work quite well during assembly and last a good long time.

Does anyone know, if anyone is supplying these?

They were never reproduced to my knowledge, but someone well versed in NOS parts such as Michael Driskell at thirdgenauto.com might have one. I had some made years ago for a super-early '32 that I was restoring and perhaps have one left over. Please send me a personal message next month when I am back among my old car stuff if you are still seeking one.

As someone not averse to modifying Ford pedals to run hydraulic brakes, a greaseable shaft is possibly a good idea. Often the grease nipple is compromised when welding on an extension to the pedal to operate the master cylinder.

Mart.

Like Mart, I welded a tab onto my 32 pedal. The grease fitting location was directly beneath this tab so I drilled and tapped for a new location for the grease nipple.

It would not be too difficult to make a new shaft (if you know somebody with a lathe). Also, you could probably bore the shaft on one end and put a grease fitting on the end, with appropriate holes for grease to get into the pedal bushings - then you're not modifying the pedals themselves (if this is a concern). The key is making sure that you can get to the zerk fitting you'd install in the end of the shaft - would probably need a 90-degree fitting.

If used in a '32 chassis frame with legs forward of the center cross member forming a K, a 60 degree angle grease fitting is a better choice rather than that with a 90 degree angle fitting.

I made a shackle bolt for my Model A Hupmobile by drilling and tapping for a grease fitting. Maybe if a new shaft isn't too hard it could be done.

You put a smile on my mug this morning. I could not agree with you more in regard to David's knowledge. The man continues to make me humble.
Nor could I have stated the truth as well as you had.

Seems all the repo shafts are both open ended/hollow all the way through, but I suppose I could tap and plug one end, to close it off

^Just use a thin washer? It's not hyper critical.

The original spring (wave) washer will take up the slack between the pedals as the shaft is stationery.
