351C vs. 400
I have seen several modified 351 C engines but not a 400. I was just wondering why. I thought the 400 just had a longer stroke. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

Re: 351C vs. 400
They use the same block. the 351 uses a 4 inch bore with a 3.5 inch stroke. The 400 is a 4 inch bore with a 4 inch stroke. The crank and pistons are different. You can make a 400 by useing the 4 inch crank and a set of 400 pistons. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

Re: 351C vs. 400
the 351M and 400 use the same block; the 351C has a shorter deck, and has the same bell housing pattern as the 221 thru 351 Windsor block, and also the 300 six. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

Re: 351C vs. 400
I take it then that a 351 M is different than a 351 C. I know the 351 W, but not sure about the other two. Don't know if the 400 was from a "C" or an "M" Ug! so confusing, Thanks <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

Re: 351C vs. 400
351W is a small block based engine. 351C uses certain small block features such as mounts and bellhousing, But uses large port big block style heads. The 351M and 400M use big block mounts and bellhousings and are similar to big block 429 and 460 engines. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |
