28' body floor dimensions
I just started work on what I believe is a 1928 model A, the floor is completely gone so I want to start by squaring up the body. I'm wondering if anyone has dimensions of the bottom of the actual body. This car may be far fetched, but the price was right so I thought I'd try. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! By the way, the body is a two door sedan

Where is the E brake handle?
Maybe first work out what you have, a 28 or a 29 or later. |

Re: 28' body floor dimensions
Ummmmmm!!!! There are two lever type handles (approximately 4" long) in what remains of the front cross member towards the passenger side, other than that....whatever was there is now lost in history. I've been trying to upload a picture of the body but it's not letting me. The reason I think it's a 28 is because in front of the doors it narrows by approximately 2" on each side.

Re: 28' body floor dimensions
Those are the seat mounts. The 28 and 29 Tudors are basically the same body, so I'd check the gas tank for a date. Look on the left side just above the bolted seam.
I also see an early Corvair in the top left. |

Re: 28' body floor dimensions
Here is a picture I took to show how the original wire for the gas tank welt is tied off at the end, but if you look at the lower left you can also see the gas tank date I mentioned above.

Tom,
I'm thinking it's a "center e-brake" car....because of the starter rod hole. Dudley |

Boy, I thought my model A's were rough. This will be a real project. Keep us posted on your progress.

Re: 28' body floor dimensions
I looked for the date on the gas tank and it is just too pitted to make out, a buddy and I decided it is a 28ish...... We are not using the original frame anyway, so we decided just to cut out what was left of the floor and build one to fit. Put a bunch of bracing in it yesterday, next step is hopefully get it blasted.
