Default Help 34 help

34 guys...have any of you installed window channels? I have a kit for rear quater glass from VINTIQE, I'm totaly baffled how the top two fuzzy rails attach. They are not like original. Kit is USA made and sold through Lebaron Bonney, Macs etc. Im told its the only kit available for 34s . No one at Vintiqe could help! Please let me know if you can help in any way. FRUSTRATED..Ken

Here are some pics, the tin piece is original and fits inside at back corner, the two felts would start in it and then follow across the top. the tabs you see by my thumb will not hold the felt securely and there is no provision to hold the remainder of it at top edge after it goes foward beyond tin piece.

Is there a way you can use very small screws to attach it? In the 35 tudor I had I used a Drake kit and it fastened with screws(flat- slot head). It attached same way to on the garnish moulding.

I have a 34 2dor and used the same kit as you. The thin strips of felt attach on the Garnish moulding. You should have two strips of straight U channel that hold the glass in place as it goes up and down. The thin strips that are screwed to the channel help hold the glass in place when it is backed out of the big forward channel and slid back to open the front part of the glass after it as high up as it will go. Hope this helps.

Just looked at the 34 2d hulk again & the fuzzy strip is screwed directly to the body around the window opening . I don't have any 2d rear garnish mouldings but I bet they have screw holes in them . 4d rear 1/4's are like this .

I think I get it now, never thought about puting one on the garnish. Certainly not original but apperantly no one offers original type. My 34 Ford....did you re-use the tin corner piece at inside rear? seems like that could make a difference when its time for upholstery. My 34 Ford..I sent you a PM. Thanks all. Ken

ken;I used some small black pop rivets.Make sure whatever you use is below the surface of the fuzzy material or you will end up with scratches on your glass. Worked for me Lee34

In the past I have used small counter sunk screws that way they will go below the surface of the fuzzy strips so not to scratch your glass or maybe even break it.
