Default Who Knows Potter Trunks ?

I was given this rough Potter trunk, years ago. I was told it was for a 1934 Ford.
Now, did not the 1934 Ford Potter trunks have a cut-out indentation for the gas filler ?
Perhaps Potter made trunks for many other cars.
What do you think ?

Not a 33-34 Ford model Potter trunk. I believe Potter made trunks for Chevrolet as well.

Thanks for the photo.
I was not aware that POTTER made trunks for other makes of cars. I could not figure out this trunk. Perhaps it is for a Chevrolet, as CC33 stated.

Your trunk may be a trunk that was made to go on top of a luggage rack. There was several different manufactures for the trunks. In 1934 the Potter trunk was was the only one authorized by Ford.Later models of Ford had the trunks built on as part of the body .(Hump back).I think Potter went bankrupt 1937 . I have a Potter trunk that fits the contour of the 34 sedan as the photo of David J. shows. The trunk mounts to the spreader bar using the holes the spare tire mount used. The spare mount now mounts to the trunk mount also.No bolts are used to mount trunk to body .I have an ad stating no holes to drill .All Potter trunks hard to find Lee34
