Default Curious about the price of real gas.

I was in Montana last month and noticed that non-alcohol gas was offered at Premium prices. That is, the same price as alcohol/corn premium, which was about $2.40/gal where we were.

Currently, in Portland, Oregon, where I live, premium corn gas is about $2.40/gal, but real gas, what we call clear gas here, is $3.99, $1.60 more than corn premium, and about $1.85 more than regular. I am just curious if others are seeing the same price differential between corn gas, premium corn gas, and real gas.

Albuquerque, NM, We are at the mercy of ONE station that carries Pure Gas in Premium only at $2.89, where Regular 10% ethanol is about $2.10. Also, here, our octane readings are about 2 points lower than surrounding states.
Not that octane means much to a Model A, here Reg is usually 85 or 86, Extra is 87 to 89, & Premium can be 90 to 92.

Regular 'Corn' gas : $2.60 per gallon

Ethanol-Free gas : $5.20 per gallon, plus signing a California State Document that states you will NOT use Ethanol-Free gas to power any vehicle on any public road in California.

Available from only one source in Humboldt County.

I was told last September in Nebraska that the farmers co-op in the state has been able to get a law passed that puts a surcharge on gas that does not contain ethanol. This helps protect the corn growers and ethanol producers. This may not be true but it is what I was told when I asked about the crazy price differential.

springerpete thread #8.... yes this is true and varies from state to state. The Corn Lobby is so powerful that they had varies govt. agencies pass laws to protect them and their nonsense.

If it weren't for the govt. stealing from the people and then 'giving' the money to the corn growers in the forms of 'subsidies' Ethanol would be more expensive and nobody would buy it.

Our Hy-Vee grocery store is the only place I can find it. Bought some today $2.69 , E10 is $1.83 but the 2.69 is for premium.
