Default Window Regulators

Does anyone know of a summary (other than the Ford Automotive Hardware and Trimming Supplies book, which has only part number information and is unclear about dimensions and hand of the regulator) that describes the differences amongst Model A window regulators?

I am particularly after the arm length dimensions.

I know some of this information:
Three hole vs four hole regulators vs body styles (these applications are somewhat described in Snyders and Brattons catalogs).
Double Arm regulators used in slant windshield cars.
Is this described in the Body Parts List?
I know this may be closely held information by some, but I am hoping to get a better idea what applies. Thanks.

I have it but it’s laminated. Pics and part numbers not I’m sure of tech info I’ll have to look
I’ll see how/if it copies
If it does I’ll attach here. Sure doesn’t seem very proprietary to me!

Slant window regulators are different on the arms, in the way they attach to the window channel.
The front window regulator on the slants are a animal unto themselves, (two arm, and very hard to find)

Bud, I just looked in the Hardware & Trim book and the lengths are not listed (pic attached below). I also looked in my 11/15/29, 8/15/30, and 04/01/32 Body Parts Price List books and dimensions are not listed there either. Probably the only place you would find those dimensions would be on the assy. prints up at Benson.

Not proprietary that I know of either. I guess them regulators are like pornography, ...you just know what they are when you see them!!

Just received a replacement regulator from one of our great vendors
(in Colorado, you all know who he is)
Anyway, the short one is the original I pulled from my car, the red one is the replacement.
Regulator is for passenger side rear door window, '31 slant window town sedan, Murray body.
You can see from the pics the different length of the arms, so this replacement will not work (I'll send it back), but it might work on a '31 slant window Vicky...I just don't know, but that is the issue with regulators, and when it comes to slant windows the issues become more pronounced.
Last pic shows why I need another, the crank shaft broke, going to weld it up and dress it down, (should have done that in the first place) don't need the handle pin hole as my handles have set screw to secure them.

I rebuild these regulators all the time. if it was me i would just shorten the arm on the new one. no one makes parts for the one you removed and I just scrape that type.

We routinely do as John is suggesting above by replacing (-shortening) the arm to make them what we need.

Here's an update for everyone
Took the regulator to the best welder I've ever meet, he used to do all the farm equipment out here in the Shawnee area of Oklahoma (he's retired now), but I went out to see him anyway.
The shaft for the crank is not pot metal, it's more of a pewter type of metal, so welding is out.
I still do not want to start cutting up these regulators, there must be a better way.
I have an out of the box idea I'm going to try.
Once I find the right metal stock and get it built I'll update again.
If the crank handle shaft breaks there should be no need to cut up two regulators to get one working.

Side question: Is the crank handle shaft the area that is breaking on most people, or is it a problem that only I'm having or is it mostly something else?

The rollers at the end of the arms are notorious for crumbling, as the originals were made of pot metal and seized up from rust and corrosion. If you want function and aren't worried about judging points, replace those rollers with screen door/patio door rollers. Prime-line in Redlands, CA makes a few of different diameters. I couldn't find any quite small enough to exactly replace the original rollers in diameter, but these replacements have bearings and are made to withstand moisture and dirt. I'm using D 1638 (27/32" o.d.) and made my own 28-m30 metal glass channel out of 18-gauge sheet steel. The originals didn't survive the chemical dip process.

It would be good to know some of the dimensions of the arms, and perhaps the specs on the springs of the originals, especially the slant window springs that are so hard to find.
