Default alumn. radiator

How is the radiator cap secured on your grill (32-4) with one of these new alumn . radiators?

Some of them, alum or brass, have the fill relocated toward the rear and not through the grill.

With the fill behind the radiator, then how do you have a normal decorative radiator cap on top to fill the hole in your grill?

Remove the locking part of the cap. Then cut out a round plate from aluminum or steel that is bigger than the hole in the grille shell. Drill a hole in the center of the plate and put a screw through the plate and into the hole in the cap where you removed the locking part. You will have to take off the grille to do this unless there is enough room between the grille and the radiator where you can get the plate and screw/bolt into the cap. I did this once with a '32 but the grille was off the car.
