Does anyone produce and sell a traditional style stock intake valve for the late model flathead? I see plenty of Chevy valves, plenty of straight stem stainless, and exhaust valves being sold for intake applications. Yes I know exhaust can be used for intake.

While not the best for flow, I like the step ford used on the stem as it makes for easy assembly.

Seeing the indented head on an intake valve is an easy visual during a build up...

Mac VanPelt has them and so does Gary 'Gosfast' . . . you will find there are a few options depending on quality, materials, etc..

Don't forget, there are two lengths of valves. the ones that use the rotatore ars shorter.

Thanks guys. I'm replacing my 1BA setup with my 8BA stuff that is NOS
It's apart anyway, a complete stocker, and a good opportunity to use the parts. I just needed stock style intakes, I have plenty of everything else.

Which ones are better for a slightly modified 8 BA? 268 cubes.

It really depends on the cam. I use the rotators with the Max#1 cam, and they work fine. I think the
is extends the life of the valve seats. Also when doing a valve job keep the exhaust seat has high on the valve as possable and radius the edg of the edge top and bottom. THis removes the sharp edge on the valve. I do this in a drill press and a stone. These simple mods kake the engines last longer. Also sta a way form OEM rings. they are too tight against toe cylinder walls. I forget the number bit Hastings made a nice set for 3 5/16
who knows might get a few weeks from these engines.

ever notice that a late model engine never has a ring ridge!!
