Default How much is it worth?

I am looking at a used LB engine that was running on a engine stand. Oil pressure in the 50's, steady vacuum at 20, temp. normal at 2000 rpm. It is a used engine that was taken out of an early V8, being turned into a resto rod. Sounded great at idle and revving. It does not have AL heads. How much is the LB flathead worth?

Complete air cleaner exhaust stromberg carb? Including the transmission and radiator
Or just the motor. Something you can drop in and go. $1000 and up.

Boy, I dunno. I sold a '34 engine that ran good for $800 to the first guy who looked at it 20 years ago. Frankly, $1000 sounds low to me.

Charlie is in his 70s and been a early ford mech/restorer his hole life. I talk with him all the time. His is one of my go to guys when I need parts or knowledge. If he says it's an lb I believe him. I even thought about buying it myself. But I'm cheap.

I was using $1000 as a starting point. Didnt really say what all came with it or if it was a short block ect. Seeing that its coming out of a car being resto rodded it might come with a lot more then just a bare motor. Meaning more $$$ in value

I wasn't ever able to sell my running '36 LB. Finally salvaged a few parts and gave it away to get it out of the shop. Anyone who can get a $1000 for one is better at marketing than I am.
