If you have my book, you'll find a chapter where I tested some stock heads. The problem was they differed a lot. So a chart like this isn't as accurate as it looks. The only way to be sure is to measure the volume. One reason the Edelbrock are nice to have around, they will give you ab accurate CR. Also 90% of the people are building "street" engines so flow rates are ot important, but drivability and economy are

Default 3/18/86

My first sober day in 11 years. I have to thank Family and friends, but most of all the Ford barn. I can't remember the fellow that started it, but we thought we could help new comer's to the hobby. Then Shelly took over and it really took off. It's been a big help for me, be 90 in a few weeks, and still putzing areoun.I also want to say that I think Ryan is doing a great job of running this forum, I feel it's in good hands.

I have always understood that "Canadian" or the so called "Denver" heads were the "poor mans" dirt racing heads. Dirt racers would grind the casting or Ford ID numbers off, paint them green, and try to pass them off as cast iron. Weiand also made similar heads in the aftermarket. They supposedly had a higher compression ratio.

From what I've read and understand, Denver and Canadian heads are not the same thing. Canadian heads are aluminum and made in Canada and Denver heads are cast iron and carry a "S" at the end of their part number.

Here is link from the HAMB and includes some great information from the late Bruce Lancaster.
