Default Tubular Shock Link Assy & 600W capacities

Tubular Shock Link: I have 2 different diagram references as to wether the spring goes on top of the piston or on the bottom.. so, where does the spring go these reproduction tubular links?

600W Oil Capacitites: As advertised by vendors, the transmission, rearend, and steering take about 2 quarts of this thick oil. However, when I look at the spec sheets, it doesn't add up...
Rear Axle : 1 1/2 Pt.
Tranny: 1 Pt.
Steering Gear: 4 1/2 oz. to 7 1/2 oz. depending on tooth box.

To me, this is only 1 quart (max) for all three... would somebody please shed some truth on this?

As always... Thaks for your input! Saltman

'Well and da', after further thought, it would take 2 quart bottles (64 oz.) to fill the tranny, rearend and stering gear with 'a pint or more' left over, depending on number of teeth on sttering gear. Nonetheless, would you please, while in the process of forgiving my mathematic skiils, verify the fluid capacities and let me know about the tubular shock link assemby question. Please, show me some mercy...no 'idiot' comments! Saltman
