Default purpose of hole in door

I submitted this a couple weeks ago, but thought I would attach this photo. I can't figure out what the purpose, if any, this hole would serve. It is on the top of the drivers door, on the hinge side. Any ideas? Thanks.

Lee, my friend,
I don't know either. The Dog suggested, "Since it's countersunk nicely, just Bondo & paint it. If you find a use for it later, the hole's still there." Bill W.

Just a guess: perhaps for hanging the door while priming ?
